Yes! Quartz is one of the hardest naturally-occurring materials used in worktop production. It is immensely hard-wearing even after years of intensive use. Though a quartz worktop can be used as a chopping board in a pinch, we don't recommend this as it can risk damaging your knife and lowering the worktop's shine and lustre.
Though porous worktops that have been sealed and appropriately treated are resistant to bacteria and stains, quartz is naturally non-porous. It prevents germs and other contaminants from settling into little pits and crannies.
Though quartz resists heat damage more effectively than laminate surfaces, its resin component makes it vulnerable to damage from direct heat. We recommend using hot pads to maintain a pristine appearance.
